Some people were like, “Misha wasn’t even at the first convention! It was Jared and Jensen at Chicon! Wah!”

Well, you’re all wrong! The first Supernatural convention was Wincon in October 2006. It was held in Nashville, Tennessee, put on by fans for fans and none of the actors were guests. And the first Supernatural convention with cast members as guest was Asylum in Coventry, UK, in May 2007. Jensen was a guest, but Jared wasn’t - he had to skip it because he was filming that Thomas Kinkade biopic. Conventions started with the fans, not with Creation.
